Where to send an idea, company by company

How to sell an idea to OXO

Has a submission portal

OXO takes inventions with a pending or issued patent through its Inventor Submission page, signs no NDAs and keeps nothing confidential. Its first Good Grips tools, the Swivel Peeler among them, came from the design firm Smart Design.

What it says

“All inventions submitted must have a pending or issued patent, preferably in the United States”

What you agree to by sending something

“OXO and its affiliates are not under any confidentiality obligations regarding any information or invention submitted”

“You acknowledge that OXO and its affiliates may be independently developing products based on similar information already in OXO’s and/or affiliates’ possession”

What it says it looks for

“"Most products we sell we pay royalties on, actually, whether it's to a design firm or an inventor."”

“Notably, in the event there is a patent, Lee wanted me to know, OXO pays for the life of it.”

“It doesn't have to look good and it doesn't have to look like a final product -- just prove the function works."”
